Linen is inherently eco-friendly, as flax is a low impact crop that requires little water and no pesticides to produce. We use natural fabrics, Responsible Down Standard (RDS) certified down, vegan linings, and work closely with our mills to reduce textile waste.

Meet Our Founder: Francesca Bettini
Francesca Bettini, founder and creative director of Francesca Bettini®, has always loved art, nature, and textiles. Born in Florence, Italy, she grew up admiring the beauty of Italian design, artisan craftsmanship, and natural fabrics. Her mother was a tailor who taught her to sew and appreciate quality materials.
Francesca dreamed of bringing her passion for art and design into the world of fashion. After studying fashion design in Milan, she began her career working for Italian high fashion brands. During her training, she fell in love with linen as a fabric. She was drawn to its beauty, sustainability, and how it captured the easy elegance of la dolce vita lifestyle.
In 2010, Francesca decided to launch her own label specializing in linen clothing made ethically in Europe. Starting in a small Florence studio, Francesca Bettini® was born out of her desire to introduce modern women to the allure of luxury linens.
Over the past decade, Francesca’s commitment to her craft has made Francesca Bettini® a globally recognized source for refined, effortless linen fashion. She oversees every design from her Florence studio, bringing her artistic vision to life through each garment.

Our Production Philosophy: Small Batch Artisanship
At Francesca Bettini®, we believe excellence comes from care – caring deeply about our craft, customers, and community.
Every Francesca Bettini® garment begins in our Florence design studio under Francesca’s creative direction. We sketch new styles based on linen’s properties and test samples on real women, refining each pattern meticulously.
Once a design is ready for production, we partner with small manufacturers in Italy and Lithuania committed to traditional techniques. For instance, our dresses are made start-to-finish by local dressmakers rather than split between factories – an uncommon practice today. Keeping production small allows quality control at every step.
We use time-honored skills like embroidering delicate lace by hand, loom weaving our linen on heritage equipment, stone washing for softness, and creating unique prints carved by artisans. Our small-batch process means garments are made slowly and carefully, which we feel preserves the integrity of our natural fabrics.
While artisanal production has become rare in today’s fast fashion world, we will never compromises on quality to increase profits or output. Linen Care & Wear
At Francesca Bettini®, we want you to love wearing and caring for our European linen designs for years to come.
Linen has a relaxed, casual ease we embrace, yet it still requires gentle care to look its best. Here are our tips for keeping your linen pieces fresh:
- Wash linen in cold water on a gentle cycle. Never use hot water, which can damage or shrink linen.
- Line dry linen out of direct sunlight, which can fade colors. Linen takes longer to dry but resists wrinkles on the line.
- Iron linen while slightly damp on medium heat. Do not over-iron, which can damage linen’s fibers.
- Dry clean colored linen to prevent running. Many of our natural linen pieces can be gently hand washed.
- Spot clean stains immediately with water and mild soap. Do not scrub linen as it can pill.
- Store linen folded or hanging. Refolding often helps prevent deep creases from forming.
Part of linen’s charm is that it breaks in beautifully over time. Natural fibers like linen will never look stiff or brand new, nor do we want them to.
Think of wrinkles and folds as adding character and movement. With proper care, our garments are made to last for many summers of la dolce vita.
